Is there really "blogging" peer pressure?

Well, I have been accused............accused of being pressured by my fellow bloggers! Can you imagine? I am talking about the picture of Jared and I in my "Then and Now" post. I got a few comments that I looked unhappy in our "now" picture. Happy post-sad picture....(I still don't see it). So, yesterday I changed it. I bowed to the pressure, changed the picture, and pleased the masses (yes, I like to pretend that there are masses that read my little blog-ya right!)! Have I become a servant to the comment board? Whoa is me!! So, in the age old fashion of trying to please everyone....I am a woman afterall....

I still love this picture!

Who IS the better Joker???

Since "The Dark Night" came out in theatres I keep hearing the question, "Who is the better Joker, Heath or Jack?" Well, this weekend Mack and Mals their own twist on the question.....It started with Mals.....

She decided to try on her own version of the Joker-

Not to be out done.....Mackay had to give us his version-

Dang, my kids can be CREEPY! ! ! Move over Heath.....The M's are on your tail!

Fun at Pineview!....Late post

When Mack got home from Seattle, Jared and I decided to take ALL the kids up to Pineview Reservoir for some fun! The kids went swimming, tubing, waterskiing and wakeboarding! Gracie was the diver of the day! She is fearless! It took Isabelle a few minutes to jump in but after I so gracefully (NOT!) slid into the water, she was quick to join us! Mackay even helped Mallory try to waterski. We cooked hot dogs and made s'mores at night. It was a blast!

It was a great day!

Oh no....I gotta go.....Back to School.....Again!

The first day of school is here! Thank the heavens above! Even though Mallory said she was not ready for school to start, the sleepless night tells me otherwise! And she was up awfully early this morning! Mals and Kamille walked in together....as fifth and sixth graders....without their moms! I am looking forward to a good school year! Now that things have settled down in our lives (for the most part), there will be no messing around! Good grades are expected! Mom is on high alert! Here I come SIS! I think I could use one of my Dad's first day of school blessings....
He still looks a little tired.....But he is on time! Yeah!

Does she look like a sixth grader? She definitely has "attitude!"

Mals and Kamille.....What a pair!

Here's to high heels..........

Do you remember when you bought your very first pair of high heels? Oh, what a day! Buying heels is one of those transitional moments in a girl's life when she moves a step closer to womanhood (no pun intended). No one knows who actually invented high heels but they can be traced back in Egyptian murals to about 200 B.C. So, why do women wear high heels? They are uncomfortable and make it so difficult to walk. The answer is simple....They makes us look fabulous! For us shorties our legs look longer and heels can exaggerate the female form...I guess men likey the heels! Mallory just bought her first pair of heels, a lovely, black, peep toe wedge. It was so fun to watch her walk down the hall at church trying to stay balanced and somewhat graceful. The best part was the big smile on her face. My baby is growing up!

I remember when I bought my first pair of heels......It was about a year ago! Sad but true! Yes, I have worn little kitten heels but nothing taller than that. I tried to tell myself I was a product of the eighties, when heels were "out." So, heels and I just weren't meant to be. Yet, most of my friends have mastered the heel. So, I broke down and bought me a pair of black, pointy toed heels. They are beautiful! Now if I only had the guts to wear them..........

Then and Now.....

Once upon a time, a girl met a boy. And the girl liked the boy. And she smiled! But she knew she had seen this boy before....a long time ago....

So she searched through her old pictures trying to find the exact place where she had seen him. And there it was.......the year:1991...the place:Days of '47 Parade

The girl's heart jumped! She has seen him before.....and she smiled! Who would have guessed that 17 years later their paths would cross again? And the girl was happy!

Yes, that is a picture of me and Jared! Is that a hoot or what? We just happen to have friends that are brother and sister (Kathy and Scott Randle) and we were at the same parade at the same time. Whooda thunk!?

Going Once...Going Twice....Sold!!!!

The Tooele County Fair and Livestock Show was a complete success!!! Mallory and her little lambs (almost sounds like a song, doesn't it?) did a great job!!
For those of you who are not that familiar with the workings of the stock show.....There is a Grand Champion (1st place)-the Reserve Champion (2nd place)-the Star Class (like the All Star team)-blue ribbons-and red ribbons. There were eight weight classes. The lambs in each weight class are judged and ranked 1 to 10. The lambs ranked 1 and 2 in each weight class are invited to the star class. The rankings decide which lambs are sold first....so, let the show begin....

July 31, 2008-Ma and Babe were weighed in and set up in the pen. Ma-147 lbs...Babe-134 lbs. They are on the bigger side so they weren't judged until classes 6 and 8 on August 1, 2008. "Showmanship" was in the afternoon! Mals was great! She is getting so good at showing those wooley creatures.

August 1, 2008-The lamb judging started at 12:00-HIGH NOON! It was hot! But it was still a great day! Babe got a red ribbon but was ranked pretty high in her weight class. Ma, however, made it to the Star Class! Go Ma!! She was ranked two in her weight class. Mals was way excited!

August 2, 2008-The Auction!!! The fun began at 10:00 AM. We had heard there weren't many buyers so were worried that Mals wouldn't get much money....Boy, were we wrong!!! Ma went for a whopping $650! Let's keep in mind that the Grand Champion went for $350....Great Job!!!

Babe was sold for $525, still a great price! When Mals came over after Babe was sold, she said to me, "Well, I just walked Babe to her grave." I asked her if she felt sad about that and quickly answered, "Heck, NO! I just got 525 bocks!" All in all, Mallory was pretty happy!
