Well, I have to say that this year has been the best show EVER! Mals not only got 2 blue ribbons but one lamb got into the "star class". It was ranked in the top 10 (she took 9th overall)! It was so fun! And she is so happy!

We are so proud of Mallory! She worked hard and did a great job! Best of all she had alot of fun!

Loren and Maren brought Rowan and Lia out to see the lambies later in the afternoon. It was great to see them! And fun to show them all the animals!

Tomorrow is the auction...by this time tomorrow, the lambs will be fullfilling their destiny...at the slaughter house! And the 2009 Tooele County Junior Livestock Show and Auction will become a memory! Lamb....it's what's for dinner!

Thanks to everyone for their love and support.....especially Grandpa Ron & Grandma Luanne and Grandma Beatrice who braved the heat to come out for the judging!

Well, the stock show is well under way! The wooly beasts weighed in at a healthy 131 lbs and 132 lbs. They are looking pretty good. Kara and Shayla came up to help out and experience the show first hand. It was so fun to have them.

After a quick shearing, it was time to get ready for showmanship. Thank goodness I had some help.
We even got a smile out of Mals!

Showmanship is really a tough competition but Mals did great! She looked confident and happy! What more could a mom ask for?

Ba-Ram-Ewe!

Tomorrow the Tooele County Livestock Show and Sale begins! Once again Mals will be showing off her beloved lambs! Those lovely lambs will be weighed in tomorrow at 8:00AM. Sometime after 2:00 PM is the Showmanship Contest. Mals will get a chance to show off how well she handles her babies...

The judging starts on 12:00PM on Friday, July 31, 2009. And that is when the FUN begins! I love to see her all dressed up in her boots and jeans parading her sweet lambies in front of the judge (we hope they are acting sweet).

The auction starts on Saturday morning at 10:00AM. If you get a chance, come by and say "HI." We will have the pen marked so you will know which wooly creatures belong to Mallory.

Lagoon-where fun is!

On Friday, we took the kids to Lagoon. I have to say it was pretty darn fun! Mackay and Mals headed off on their own while Jared and I took Isabelle and Gracie on some rides. Isabelle is right at the transition age between the "little kids" rides and the "big" rides. Look at her in the bumper car.....looking a little big.

Isabelle really wanted to go on the Wild Mouse so we headed over and discovered that Gracie is EXACTLY 46 inches! So, she could ride the Wild Mouse too! Well, a whole new world opened up for brave little Gracie. We spent the rest of the day on the big rides....It was awesome! Both Isabelle and Gracie LOVED it!

It was fun to spend the rest of the day all together. It was GLORIOUS to see all four kids on a level playing field! No one was too big or too little!

There were a few hours of just the "big" kids... it made me smile when they had to ride the Merry-Go-Round...they don't show it often but they are still kids deep down!

It was a good day!

Blog Background Blues

If you haven't noticed, I am NEVER satisfied with the background of the blog! I just can't seem to find the background that fits me. I try new ones from time to time and I can usually get a break from thinking about it with the changing of the seasons....But still I am not satisfied! I keeping looking but the perfect background continues to elude me. Should I just keep changing? Should I stop looking? Should I breakdown and buy a custom background designed just for me? Or should I just sit down and write a song?

....."I've got the blues....dum da da da dum....the blog background blues....dum da da da dum....I wish I could make one....dum da da da dum....with paper and glue....dum da da da dum"....

Well, maybe not. If anyone out there wants to design me a background or has seen one that you think fits me perfectly, let me know! Until then, I will keep strumming to the blog background blues!

Isabelle's Baptism

On Saturday, July 11, 2009, Isabelle was baptized. We are so proud of her decision to be baptized. It was a great day and she looked beautiful! Thanks to all for your love and support for Isabelle!

Dirty Little Secret...

Friday night I was waiting in line at the snack bar at the movie theater and there it was....my secret love....one I am not too proud of but cannot deny....a new QUENTIN TARANTINO movie is coming soon to a theater near you! Oh, how I love his movies! Tarantino movies are disgusting, violent, bloody, foul, politically incorrect and still I LOVE THEM!! I can't help it! He has a seriously demented mind! But he attracts major stars to his films....Brad Pitt, Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, George Clooney, and the list goes on! There is just something about a Tarantino flick that gets my blood pumping! We all have our secret vices and now you know mine! Bring it on baby! Gotta love the death and mayhem!

I couldn't resist sharing this one...

You may have seen this before but I got a KICK out of it!

Thought of the Day...

"All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused."

All you need is black paint.....

Some women I know, who are wise beyond their years (Bea and Krista), taught me a trick that opened a new world of home decor for me! Now I am not much of a decorator....I have all these new rooms....and not a lot of money to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. Fortunately, I am learning a few tricks from two of the best decorators on the planet (yes, the planet!). With their help, I am learning to always keep an eye out for a good buy, not buy the first thing I see, buy it if I love it, and see potential in what I may already have hanging around.

BUT the best trick I have learned so far is the magic of BLACK PAINT!!!! I love it! Mals wanted a black room...I said NO but I did pull out the trusty can of black paint and....Wha La! A new black bed! The heater vent didn't match the decor in my fabulous kitchen....black paint=an awesome black vent! Whatever I seem to need....a black barn star, picture frame, basket, candlestick.....that trusty can of black paint fixes it all! Whooda thunk it?

Maybe I am a little more extreme than my Masters of Decor would approve of but I am a woman possessed! And my can is loaded and ready to spray! Who knows what will be next.....

It might just be YOU!!!
